Dr. Wine is Professor of Paediatrics and Immunology, Clinician Scientist, and Head of the Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at SickKids, Toronto.

His clinical expertise is managing children with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) with specific interest in diet. This interest fits well with his laboratory research focus on mechanisms of microbial virulence related to IBD, and the complex interplay between diet, microbes, and disease, enabling translational bench-to-bedside research.

Dr. Wine is Co-Chair of the Canadian Children IBD Network, was on the Executive of the ESPGHAN Porto IBD Group (2018-2025), and co-led the new ESPGHAN/ECCO paediatric UC guidelines.
