Dr. Hermênio Lima is a Clinical Immunologist and Dermatologist. He finished medical school in Brazil. In 1995, Dr. Lima finished his PhD in Immunology at Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, MA, USA). The same year, he was appointed Research Scientist at Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO, USA). In 1996, he returned to Brazil as research scientist to the Department of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto University of São Paulo (Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil). In 1997, he was appointed to the position of adjunct professor of Immunopathology at Federal University of Santa Catarina (Florianópolis, SC, Brazil). In 2003, he accepted the position as head of Clinical Immunology and Allergy discipline at Federal University of Parana (Curitiba, PR, Brazil). In 2008, he worked at the Clinical Unit for Research Trials in Skin (CURTIS) – Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard University (Boston, MA, USA) where he was appointed as Research Fellow. In 2010, he was appointed Associate Professor at Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine, Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University in 2010. In 2014, he was appointed as Post-graduate Director for Dermatology at McMaster University. In 2015, he accepted the position as Director of Dermatology Division at Medicine Department, School of Medicine McMaster University.

Dr. Lima is an effective member of multiple medical societies in Canada, USA and Brazil.

His main research interests are in the area of Immunodermatology. As consequence of his research endeavors, he has published 74 articles in peer-reviewed specialized journals with 1117 citations in Google Scholar, and his h-index is 19 (Oct, 2016). He edited 1 book, wrote 1 book, and 10 book chapters. These publications cover diverse subject areas of Research, Medicine, and Health science.
