Eric Benchimol is a pediatric gastroenterologist and clinical epidemiologist at the SickKids Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre and Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the epidemiology, outcomes and health services research using routinely collected health data. Dr. Benchimol is the Chair of the Crohn’s and Colitis Canada (CCC) Scientific and Medical Advisory Council, and also co-chairs the CCC COVID-19 Task Force. In that capacity, he was involved in creating COVID-19 recommendations for patients with IBD, and health care providers (crohnsandcolitis.ca/covid19). He is also co-host of CCC’s COVID-19 webinar series.
